Flower Girl
Deia had the honor of being a flower girl, for the first time, at Amber and Todd's wedding in Colorado. We stayed at Codillera Lodge, just beyond Vail, and the ceremony was in Beaver Creek. The setting was gorgeous, the day was perfect. Amber so kindly had the florist create a boutonniere for Blubo...knowing she likely wouldn't let him go before walking down the aisle! So cute. As it was, the onlookers were a little intimidating for her and Corey, clad in an accidental groomsmen-matching suit, walked her happily down to where I was standing at the altar. I held her for about 20 minutes of the ceremony and she played quietly in my arms...until she started poking at my chest and blurted "Boobies, mommies boobies" during a special prayer. Fortunately it was mostly unheard and when I said that it was then time to go to daddy, she sweetly yelled for him and then ran into his arms. She loved dancing to the jazz band at the reception and devoured wedding cake. It was so fun to be a part of Amber's wedding and to have that memory of Deia as that little girl you always see and coo over :)
