Cluck Cluck

Just another random among the trucks on Abbot Kinney during a First Friday. Deia thought it was pretty hilarious.

The Play Mat

This is the same mat Deia learned to crawl on. Now Evera just hangs out and wiggles on it. Great tummy time spot that we have set up on the floor in our bedroom. Love being in that room with her. It's so bright and happy, like her :)

The Partygoer

Deia is having a great time going to all of her new friends birthday parties. It's fun to see them all interact and to see her so happy with her group of girls.

Evera 5 Months

Yummy baby Evi! 27" Tall - 95%. 15.14lbs - 75%. What a tall baby! She definitely looks older than 5 months, and her soul seems older as well. Calm and wise. We pulled the trigger and did the sleep training! Deia camped out in our room for a week while little Evi had to work it out in her crib...without a swaddle, without a pacifier. It took a week...with naps not being as difficult as the night time. But she did it! And then we put Deia back in her room. Deia was so patient with Evera's crying when we would shut the door. And the few times she continued to wake up and cry herself back to sleep. But, like with Deia, it was more of a frustrated complaint than a cry after a little while. Hearing the two of them make noises at each other in the morning is the sweetest thing ever! We shut the door at 7:30 and see them at 7! It's brilliant. You would think I would get sleep now that the girls are sleeping through the night?! NOPE. Evera found comfort in being a tummy sleeper, exclusively! She face plants ALL NIGHT. And she's not rolling from her stomach to her back yet, so I don't have "go to sleep mom" confidence in her strength. UGH. So I got the angel care motion sensor so that I can try to get some rest. I know she's fine. But even when I told the dr. that I put her down on her back...and she rolls directly on to her stomach and tucks her hands under her belly and goes face down...she just told me to keep putting her on her back. BUT I DO. It will take some time to get used to this and not want to keep going in to move her head to the side and check her breathing. Of course, this is what happens. BUT, no more pacifier, yippee! She's eating solids now too. All puree, and the three day trials of each food...which I will bore of soon. But she likes her squash and carrots and yams. Loves bananas, of course. On May 20th, she cut her first 2 bottom teeth. They are ridiculously little and insanely cute. Not a peep from her, so I didn't even know they were coming, until she bit my finger and it hurt!

Sand Angels

It's so fun to have Deia growing up running around the sand. She throws herself in it. Makes me happy to find sand between her toes, sand in her bed :)

Happy Girl

It never ends! I pinch myself because I have never seen anything more consistent in this WORLD than her joy. Seriously. Pinch me.

Easter 2012

What an amazing Easter at the Campodonicos! Evera wore her Easter Dress, care of Noni, and Deia was not surprisingly clad in purple and wore the wings that GiGi gave her. She did a great egg hunt through the garden with her little friend Adriana and we all enjoyed a sunny, warm day with family.

The Girls

This is one of the best shots of the girls together in Costa Rica. Evera, sunkissed and Deia loving all over her. I can't believe there are two of them!

Evera In Manuel Antonio

What a trooper. She was sweating bullets tucked into the ergo during a sun beating 1 mile hike into the MA beaches. Needless to say, she thoroughly enjoyed a quick dunk into the clear waters and got her first sunburn under the dappled light of the trees when the park rangers would not allow the use of our kids sun tent. What?! The next few days we had chamomile tea bags on her skin. But, as always, she smiled through all of it!

Family In Jaco

March/April 2012. There we are, 4 of us! It's amazing to have had this photo taken, on this beach...as Corey and Nikki, Corey and Nikki and Deia, Corey and pregnant Nikki and Deia and now Corey and Nikki and Deia and Evera! I love that sunset. And I LOVE my family. It really is a "happy hour" in Jaco.

Tales Of The Pallikidder

We went to the butterfly farm in Costa Rica. Deia touched butterflies, cocoons, caterpillars and frogs! She was absolutely fascinated. She said, "the Pallekidder builds a raccoon and in 2 days it comes out and it's a butterfly!"

Evera 4 Months

I cannot believe that Evera's first trip to Jaco is at exactly the same age Deia was when she was there. Evera traveled flawlessly. Not a peep, which is true of Evera in general. She is still the most smiley, happy, easy baby. We are so incredibly lucky! She just rolls with it, always. Her legs are starting to get chubby and her face is filling out. She has this crazy strawberry blonde hair and very pale skin. She's adorable! Her dimple keeps getting deeper and her eyes more and more blue. She isn't rolling much, but she's very comfortable on her tummy and is very resilient with her sister always near her body. She babbles a lot, and usually with a smile. She is completely confused by the pool and really excited by ice. She is all formula fed now and is doing really well with Earth's Best. Evera is so so so long! She's already outgrowing 6m sizes and her feet don't fit in any of the baby shoes we had. She still loves being swaddled...which will go when we sleep train her...as well as the pacifier she still likes during bed and chillaxin time. We eat her up all day, all night.

Classic Costa

We repeat this photo every time we are in Jaco. Remember the first time...Deia was 4 months old, sitting as the dot on her "i" and eating black sand. Now look at her!!!!!! She's close to writing her own name :)

Deia 3.5

Deia 3.5 is as incredible as she is challenging. She's a smart little girl...constantly testing her control and power in any situation. So, all things are age appropriate...but her language is beyond that. She is so absolutely communicative. Her thoughts and ideas are articulated clearly. She is super adventurous and very easy to travel with. She is very patient with her sister and really nice to her friends. She just started liking peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and FINALLY poops on the potty. Phew. That happened on the plane ride to CR...close quarters in the airplane bathroom, but we were thrilled for her... and for us. She remains an excellent sleeper and still takes one 2 hour nap a day. She's doing well in school...socially and physically active. And she takes ballet from Miss Marie and does Super Soccer Stars every Saturday. We are really enjoying how fun and loving she is. She's a great size :)

Books

What a sister :) Here Deia is reading book after book to Evera. Deia is 3.5yrs and Evera is 4mo. Evera is patiently listen to everything Deia is making up. They haven't moved in about 15 minutes and both are equally as fun to watch in this moment!

Still Smiling At The Dr.

March 19th. Evi smiles, as usual, through an entire dr appointment. She checks out perfectly...above the 95% for height and 75% for weight.

Ray Of Light

Deia loves playing on the front porch in the sunshine. She usually waves to passers by and always screams across the street to Chris and Flynn.

Boardwalk Face Painting

Leave it to Deia to ask the boardwalk artist to make her a purple hello kitty. She loved every second of it.

A Stroll With The Boys

Just another walk to the beach so daddy and the boys can surf! It's such a part of the fabric of what Deia knows to be her lifestyle. She's never seemed to have an adverse reaction to Corey leaving to go surf. It's as if she just...gets it! She has asked him to take her surfing too! So he gets out the boogie board and her wetsuit and off they go :)

Blondie!

We waffle between this strawberry blonde, red and straight up blonde hair color. Depends upon the light and degree of "dirty." But her eyelashes and eyebrows are so translucent. Will she stay blonde?? Ginger??

Contemplating

Beauty @ The Beach

My first outing alone with both girls was to Windward Park. I took out the Phil & Ted's double stroller right as Evera's nap was about to begin. Fortunately, she fell fast asleep and Deia didn't feel like running around the entire park. She picked the statue area to play in and we could all be near the stroller. Few! I expected to be sweating and dealing and it turned out to be a lovely time to play with Deia instead!

4 Months

She is 4 months old here...clearly discovering her tongue. She's still sleeping in our room, swaddled. She's almost heavy enough to not eat through the night, but we are headed to Costa Rica soon and there is no need to rock the boat and try to sleep train her before a trip. So, we'll hold out. She really only needs a few pacifier fixes throughout the night...that's still creating a ton of sleep deprivation. But that too will come to an end :) She's so incredibly smiley and sweet. I have yet to hear her cry for something other than a vaccine! Everyone comments that she looks like Corey...which is just how Deia looked. Deia continues to be very lovingly aggressive. Her intentions appear to be good and she likes the idea of entertaining her sister. But she is very strong with Evi, physically and she's up in her face with loud baby talk a lot. It will be interesting to see what happens when Evera can better interact. For now, she smiles through all of it...unless she whimpers from being freaked out :)

School's Out

On a day off of school, some of the NSW girls got together for a tea party at the park. Pretty darn cute :)

Chocolate After Recital

February 24, 2012
I might eat her little face. She just finished her first recital with Miss Marie and wanted a chocolate treat. Seems like a healthy ballerina to me!

NSW Flowers

NSW asks parents to bring in flowers for the school. Aside from fresh flowers being a Reggio staple, it's so nice to have them around. Deia brought these to school and was very excited about her contribution. The only thing more exciting for her is when she brings snack and draws up the images of the food and decides on the serving amount...then she signs it at the bottom :) Adorable!

Always Smiling

2.5 Months - Laughter, sometimes just looking at her brings it on. She's SO easy!!! She still has that amazing dimple on her left cheek, it gets deeper and deeper with every smile. It's hard to keep my mouth off of her face!!

3 Months Old

This is one of our first few photo sessions. She was so intrigued by the camera and gave me face after face after face. She is so alert and happy, it's hard to get a bad photo. This batch of images is the first to really display her character and the maturation of her face. Her little features aren't so smushed together anymore, her eyes so blue and her hair so strawberry blonde!

All Smiles At The Dr.

January 11, 2012: 10 lbs 15 oz - 50% Weight. 23.5" - 90% Height. Evera is tall and thin! Haha. Not for long! She's a riot when we go to the drs office. She literally smiles at everyone the entire time. Then, of course, the only other time I hear her cry, since the moment of her birth, is when she gets a vaccine. But otherwise, easy peasy.
